Even In Nz I Have A Retro Toyota.......... And I Live In This One!

Well Yes I couldnt even get away from having an old Toyota 12000 miles away from home........... and this one has a use too!! B)

Since Im traveling NZ For a year i needed a van to Live/travel/Cruise about in so i ended up with this....................

I went all the way down to Dunedin from Christchurch to pick up this (and have a few drinks with an old friend from the UK lol).

Picked it up for a reasonable $3000NZD. 8)

2.4 Diesel

209000km from new with fresh engine recon

Automatic

Long Wheel Base

Power steering

Air Con

Alarm

Chrome :D

Now its time to convert it to a full camper so i can live and travel in it for the rest of the year!

Oh and I might do a few little retro mods too........... thinking something like this............ :mrgreen:

Ive been kindly donated a set of 1988 Toyota Crown Wheels for free, that look suitably pimp and retro and look good against the van. I may even run them with some whitewalls??? :D

1st Mod was to get some insulation in the panels:

Then make a start on fitting the audio:

And today i took it for a wash:

Theres a few more little touches before its finished which ill do this weekend.

Oh and just to show she makes a good workhorse too, here she is in car towing form with Joes (Bubbagoose) lancer and a F*%king big trailor lol (sorry for rubbish pics lol)

Well heres a little update so far..............

I bought another "propper" mattress as the other one was too soft for me and got some matching blue sheets for it too lol

I put some curtain Tracks up with temporary blinds untill I get the curtains made for it...........

Bed still fits in lovely with the seats up being a LWB........

Bedding in and power "hook up" fitted lol..........

All moved in........... Tweed Jackets were for fancy dress honest..............

Home sweet home.........

Trying to change the headlight bulbs........

Done........... with some swearing and seized bolts............

Went on another towing mission and gave it the ultimate test......... 2 tonnes of Jag!!! It coped fine thank god lol........

My plan is to Import this back to the UK to use as a daily as its practicle and cheap to run and also use it to tow the corolla to shows! Im also looking to fill it with parts for the corolla and maybe a few to sell too! See what happens!

Yes I did and I want one..... but I really don't want to have to travel to NZ in order to get one. I wonder if they do mail order
