Hi all,

Thought I would quickly introduce myself to the TOC. My name is Richard and I am from Ipswich in Suffolk. A few years ago I made a terrible mistake by letting my close-to-immaculate, J registration, Corolla GTI go. Foolishly, due to work requirements I had to get something a bit bigger that I could travel the country in, even more foolishly I chose an Alfa 156! Oh dear! Ever since then I have been pining for another non-tvis revision Corolla. My current fleet consists of an 02 plate Impreza WRX and... as of yesterday a black G registration non-tvis Corolla GTI, YEAH!

For a 20 year old car she runs very well, and has only just reached 100k miles. However there are a whole array of cosmetic issues to be addressed... let the project begin.

hi and welcome.

do a bit of a search on here as there are a few of us that have restored these rolla's . there are a few corrosion points to check that could be missed.

bottom of the a pillars where they meet the sills and also around the rear struts.

Hi mate and welcome. I am currently restoring my GTi too and have had serious rust problems. I have managed to get the engine going though and here it is in its current state:

I have done a lot of work on her so far and she should be finished this september. :D

I do have an odd request for you though, could you please post up some pictures of the vacuum line that you have set up for you intake? I have a nasty idling problem and can't get it to settle properly.
