Hi,

I am currently on the verge of devastation. Having just bought a toyota hiace campervan (1993 dual fuel petrol and LPG 1988cc)which I was hoping to own for a very long time we took it for our first holiday and disaster struck. Stuck on the M4 on the hottest day this year our poor van went up in smoke after the radiator gushed all the water out of an unknown hole. The engine then seized before we could get to a service station and we are left engineless and distraught.

Having been told the engine was quite rare I was delighted to source an engine from a second hand and reconditioned parts place but they have delivered the wrong engine twice! Whilst they have promised me they will remedy this I have a sinking feeling they may not have the engine I need.

Does anyone know where you can buy an engine for my vehicle in case it all falls apart?

Thanks to anyone who can help us keep our van alive.

Hi sorry to hear of your troubles. Have you tried to get the engine from Toyota? I know that they have very high prices but at least you will know that you have the right engine and it won't be second hand removing any doubt that it's a duff recon.

:D

Also why would you try driving it with the coolant gone? It would have been a much better idea to leave it by the side of the road and get help...
