Does anyone know where I can get a RAV4 Driver's manual from? I am hiring one in Iceland,having not driven one before, and in my experience car hire companies never provide a driver's manual.

Hi Rosamund,

if you are hiring it probably means that you will get the current model RAV. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I doubt that the manual is available as a download. Had you considered asking a local dealer for a test drive so that you could have some hands on experience? Good luck in Iceland, I've always wanted to go driving there since Top Gear did the article on driving on glaciers a few years ago.

Probably needs instructions for renewal of pollen filter....them volcanoes cause a lot of dust, ye know !!!!!

Another option is the "Vehicle Brief Guides" (I didn't know vehicles wore briefs? ) on the Toyota website (link below):

(Or on the Toyota site (www.toyota.co.uk) select Menu -> Ownership -> Reference Library -> Vehicle Brief Guides, then select RAV4 from the drop down list).

Just make sure they've emptied the ash tray before you pick it up. Enjoy!

Thanks for all your replies. I have now downloaded both the short and the long versions of the manual. When I have read them I may be back here with more questions as I am a novice at 4WD. I did take at 4WD course at Castle Coombe last week, it was great fun but was in a Landrover and definitely off-road driving, so not quite the same as an automatic RAV4 on mountain roads in Iceland will be. Might try and get a test drive too.

Anything! The car came with a little quick reference folded card. I even had to join a certain forum to ask where the jack was stowed, did I not?
