Whilst giving my wifes 54-plate 1.8 VVTI Avensis a check over this afternoon I happened to notice that the airbox doesn't appear to be properly closed/secured. From what I can work out the front portion of the airbox pushes into 2 locating lugs/hinges and at the back of the airbox there is some sort of clip/lever arrangement - correct? Whilst the front of the airbox is properly located now the levers/clips at the rear are missing....presumably lost/broken during its last service by a mechanic I no longer use as I lost confidence in him but thats another story.

Can I buy the rear securiing clips from Toyota? Or will they try and sell me a whole airbox in normal main dealer style!

Any thoughts/pointers appreciated. A colleague at work has a similarly aged Avensis so I'm going to have alook under his bonnet tomorrow to confirm my suspicions!
