Alloys

G'day all..

was registered before but for some reason could not get back in, changed password and done what i could but it wouldn't have it so i had to re-register..

anyways...had the rav4 mk1 3 door gs 1997 about 6 weeks now.. went right through the car and my mate who's a mechanic fitted a new thermostat and o ring as it was leaking there, front n/s wheel bearing was squeeling like a pig but that turned out that the hub/shaft was cream crackered as well so £220 for the bearing and hub flange from toyota, perfect now though and it drives like a dream.. i love it to bits, wish i'd got one years ago, fitted new spare wheel cover, got one of the semi rigid black gloss from e-bay for £30, steel wheels are a bit gross with rust spots and spoil the car , tyres are grabbers front and general ameri back.. 215/70/16 ..

now comes the question, i would like a set of alloys to finish the car off, there is a set on e-bay from a 2003 model with the same size tyres as mine..

does anyone know if these 2003 alloys will fit straight on my car without any hassle?

sorry for the long winded question but i'm so chuffed with this motor....

I have a set of FOX Racing alloys from my number 2 RAV. Its 4 wheels and I may/may not have the nuts for them - I can look. They are spare and I won't be using them as I switched to 18" wheels. The tyres are in very good condition and I think are 235/60 x 16 - the same diameter as the 215/70 x 16 pretty much. alloys are in good condition....I swapped them cos I had a spare set of MAK mirrors 18" which I am taking off the car next week to fit DARE Drifts on with a 245/45x18 tyre.

My number 1 RAV runs DARE Drift with 225/40x18 I think which gives a 10% over reading on the speedo.

As far as the MAK Mirror alloys are concerned, I will be scrapping them as I had them modified and it hasn't worked out.... the Fox Racing are in good condition and am happy to pass them on for a small donation to the charity I help run. I can get them wrapped onto a pallet and the pallet delivery is around £50 I believe which is the value of 1 of the tyres! The scrapp alloy price is running at £500 a ton so the wheels are worth a wee bit just for the metal!!!

The Rav4 has the same PCD as the Lexus, Supra, Nissans, Mitsubishi. I'm running a set of Ultralite monoblocks meant for the Mitsubishi Evo's on the wifes IS200 in 8x17 and the ofset is perfect - right up to the arches.
