Welcome to the Club :)

Um, off the top of my head:

Rev 1 - 1990 - 1992, 225BHP 14" alloys. 0 - 60 approx 5.7 top speed 160MPH (ish)

Rev 2 - 1992 - 1994, 225BHP 15" alloys. 0 - 60 and top speed as above

Rev 3 - 5 - 1994 - 2000?, 245 BHP 15" alloys. 0 - 60 5.4 (I think) top speed 160 MPH (ish)

The main turning point was Rev 2 where the wheel size was increased and the suspension revised (more predictable handling.) Next major revision was revision 3 which received second generation 3S-GTE engine with larger injectors, new ECU etc and of course round rear lights. Changes to later revisions were mainly cosmetic i.e. clear indicators etc.

go for a Rev3+ and GT (all the toys) .. the Rev1/2 were only 225bhp .. and are harder to get above 300 and had silly things like AFMs not MAP sensors.

The GT-S had cloth seats and didn't have the eletric folding mirrors or the steering fogs (both options though). Where the GT was half leather ..

Then it's Tin Top or T Bar ..

Should have said this before, as Bibbs says, for power upgrades, a Rev 3 onwards is a much better way to go. Ah if only I had my time again......

There just seems to be a massive gulf in prices between the Rev 2 and Rev 3 which i can't get my head round!

Any Rev 3 close to rev 2 prices you would have to pressume that its gonna be a bit of a dog tbh. And especially of your gonna import the bugger, you're not gonna be able to give it a good once over!

Just use some reputable importer!

I got mine thru Mr2 direct imports, as did Bibbs iirc, they're supposed to be top dog for 2's tho the geezer chrg's a premium over others imo!

Still, the car was a good un apart from a few niggles, which he werent gonna sort out himself - warped discs, ariel not retracting, temp not reaching halfway thus not achieving full boost.

btw 2's are better than the Celicas :P

All of the above is good advice....all I'll add is if you wanna modify it a bit then get a Gen III (october 1993 upwards) , NOT a Gen II. I can cut and paste the list of upgrades done from rev II and III if you want otherwise you can do a search.

Cheers
