Why are over half the topics on the General Discussion page taken up by individual news reports by the same user?

I read and listen to the news then see it all copied and pasted again on a car forum.

Has he run out of jokes?

It was bad enough with over 5000 jokes, but at least they are all in one thread and I can avoid it. Now all I see everyday is news reports.

How about just pinning a link to the BBC/Daily Mail/The Sun etc to save us have to dodge every other topic from Sky News?

If a few more start spamming the boards with stuff we already know or don’t want to read then TOC will collapse under the shear weight of junk that’s on here!

They are an endless source of ideas for witty [?] retorts, comments & general going off topic

There is also a serious side to them, viz the posts re the Gaza incident :)

It is like the Tele... if you don't like the program, you don't have to watch it

If no one read or replied then I would be worried, but if you take out my posts the board would be tumble weed.

Please note that I only try to post unusual topics that I think may interest others. which seems the case.

As regards the jokes page at the moment it stands at well over 78,228 hits so it looks as though it's being read.

At least Raists news is current, when I posted up a recent news event direct off the BBC news website I was "Hoisted by my own petard" for reporting a story 5 years old How very dare the BBC recycle news stories :!Removed!:

I like Raistlins posts because I don't tend to watch the news on the TV or read papers. As Vic mentioned it is often the source of many witty and in some cases hilarious jokes which I enjoy scrolling and browsing through.

I understand complaining if he posts that in the Aygo section, but seeing as he posts in General Discussions I think it is acceptable. The fact that it is General Discussions implies that it is for any discussion about anything (as long as it doesn't cross the TOC T&C's) and not purely for automotive chat.

I post things about my GTi in my own thread which is now going on to 24 pages long, people read it so I carry on going and also I get help from it. At least Raistlin is making the effort to communicate with the rest of the club, whether it be through posting of the news or commenting in other peoples threads to offer words of encouragement.

Why is it such a problem that he posts things up regularly in GD? Also one thing that you seem to have over-looked is that fact that you have eye-lids. These wonderful things allow you to cover your eyes so that you no longer need to look at something you don't wish to. Use them.

Or alternatively, you can read the title and decide not to read the actual thread.

Also, try posting things up that will be the spark of interesting and positive banter instead of posting your first thread in god knows how long which is purely complaining about someone else who is doing something perfectly reasonable.
