Good Boot Mat / Tray / Tidy For When The Seats Are Down?

I ordered my first IQ last week, should be ready to pickup in the next week or so. Im planning to put the rear seats down permanently and Im just going to use it as a 2 seater.

I wondered if anyone knew of a good ‘solution’ for creating a ‘proper’ boot space?

I’ve had a look on eBay and there are a couple of boot mats there. One heavy duty one looks good, but it seems that they stop at the edge of the seats and so there is in effect a big gap around the edge of the boot that things can disappear down.

As I haven’t actually got the car yet, maybe I am worrying too much about the gap around the seats when they are down? Any thoughts or advice from existing owners would be much appreciated :)

My goal is to be able to dump stuff in the boot without it falling down holes, is this a viable goal in an IQ with the seats down?

Why havn't you ordered the two seater version of the iQ???

10% lower in price - import from Ireland in a few days.

Or lift out the rear seats in 3 minutes and put a wood piece on the bottom covered by a carpet - and have fun

Since it is so easy to remove the backseat, there is no reason to order a two seater IQ lol

Just remove the seats at the back and put some carpets down to cover up will do, or you can get some custom made carpet cut to perfectly fit into the back.

I didnt even know there was a 2 seater version, or that the seats were removable

I think its nice to have the option of the extra 1.5 seats, plus I dont have anywhere to put the seats if I take them out. I guess Ill wait till the car comes and have a look at my options.

Until I find the ultimate solution, I have been using an anti-slip mat I bought for a few quid, trimmed to fit the back seat area, on which I place a couple of fold-down crates.

Even when empty, they don't move around. Extra shopping bags sit between the crates and don't fall into the rear footwell (yet).

Thanks for posting those pics SUBARMAN, this gives me a much clearer idea of the boot space!

I had another look on eBay and found a couple of things that might work:

Its only £8 inc the postage, but would be nice if it was in black

£23 for this thing...

This isnt made for the IQ, and you cant easily stow it away if you suddenly need 3 seats - but I still wish someone made one for the IQ as I might consider this as a solution.

If you have the cash, there is a genuine Toyota boot mat also available on eBay. It seems to cover the whole area behind the front seats, but its £82 +£36 delivery...

  • 4 weeks later...

What's the carpet/rubber reversible boot mat like that you get in the iUrban pack? It goes over the back seats when they're folded down.
