Those round DRLs are from Hella and should be legal. But I don´t

wan´t to waste those nice looking Philips DRls..

Maybe I should just install them and see when or if I get "fanmail"

from police?

I think that's what you should do. I believe that the first place where you'll get noticed will be your MOT inspection. Police does not inspect cars that carefully I think, mostly check if the lights have got E-approval or not.

There's a fair few new Merc's around here that are using the "front fog light area" as DRL's.

I think basically they've fitted a LED's around the front fogs... This is original Merc, not aftermarket.
