Rear Bumper Damage

Hi all,

Been a while since I last posted.

I embarrasingly reversed my wifes Yaris 1.3L CC ( 2005 ) into a fence the weekend & damaged lower rear bumper section ( aliminium piece ). Does anyone know of a web site or supplier of Yaris parts who would stock this part?

I have searched internet & emailed a couple of sites but have not had any luck.

Thanks for your help.

just go to your nearest toyota and order the part. Was about the same price as the above, when my yaris needed that part

The metal bit on my bumper has taken a bit of a ding... If I go to the dealer and get them to get me a replacement part, how hard is it to fit and will it be primed or a specified colour, like red?

iirc (this was on a P1 SR) the bottom bit comes from toyota in a standard matte black metal, that will require primer and paint.

The bottom part of the bumper is attached to the top part, so the whole lot comes off, then you separate the two sections. It's very easy to remove the whole rear bumper with only a 10mm socket and a phillips screwdriver.

Going from memory:

1.remove the bolts under the arches

2.remove bolts that are shown when the boot is lifted

3.tug/pop off each corner of the bumper (don't be scared, it won't snap)

4.lift off whole bumper

5.remove/polystyrene and unbolt upper from lower part

something like that.

Thanks for the replies all.

I have received a quote from Local dealer ( who my son works for ) & want £69 for part. I then will have to get it painted for around £50.

Process for removing was almost correct, except I had to remove x2 bolts which hold top section to body ( behind bumper itself ) & x2 nuts which hold lower section to body ( which are awkward ).

Two sections are joined together by plastic clips but not too sure how they release yet. Didn't want to try anything until I get hold of new part.

I will try link above though to see if I can get part cheaper.

oohhh yeah, i remember those clips now! (was a few years back).

Are they the separate rectangular things, or part of the bumper?

think i remember they rotated off...

Possibly! I don't think it will be too difficult though.

Found part on eBay last night for £34 + £12 P & P. Non-genuine part though, so may just go for the dealer supplied part.

Its a combination of plastic (upper part) and metal (lower part) bit of a pain really and no idea why!

The OP has a 2005 though - a mark 1 phase 2. My t-sport one is all plastic and I thought the non-t-sports were the same. Is the said panel not behind the bumper out of sight?
