The new Ford Mondeo gets a 237 bhp turbocharged I4

http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/AllCars/250712/

This is just one saloon out of many with turbo. Now i would really like for my next car to be a Toyota, but the performance options a lot of other manufacturers offer are hard to overlook. Hope somebody from TMC reads this and wakes up.

looks good

It's a Ford. I wouldn't buy it. I just tried to make the point, that a lot of Toyota's competitors offer performance options. I wouldn't buy the Mondeo, but i could be tempted by Audi A4, Saab 9-3 or Honda Accord, just to name a few. Both Saab and Audi have turbo as a rule, rather than an option. And the Honda has the 2.4 with 200 horsepower.

people judge fords by how they pecieved they used to be, there build quality is as good if not better than some

toyota and you get a lot more for your money too.

last year was talking to a local taxi driver with a 05 mondeo zetec 130 bhp tdci asked him how it was doing, mostly

rural work he said with some heathrow and standsted from here in norfolk, he said that it was absolutly reliable.

he has not spent one penny on it than normal serving parts. not one thing has failed to work since he brought it

he had done then 220000 miles then, spoke to him again last week and has nw done 240000 miles and is running as

as well as when he first got it.

and oil does not require topping between services.

it seems a little bit TLC and not getting a monday morning car helps a lot.

as the fitter i served my time told me you can buy a perfect car but the next one of the assembly line can be nothing but trouble and applies to your bmw, mercedes and audis indeed any make.

ive two great vw a jetta and passat no problems but the golf i had once (new) a complete load of rubbish what could go wrong went wrong.

Still, Ford is on the bottom of my list, along with Opel and the french. I just took it as an example, because i just came across that article. More and more carmakers choose to turbocharge their engines as an economical alternative to larger displacement 6 cylinder engines.
