Is It Normal To Have To Slam The Doors?

Recommended Posts

Picked up my new silver IQ1 this morning.

I find that the doors and boot have to be swung closed quite hard to get them to close.

With all the windows closed, it feels like the air trapped inside the car resists the door/boot at the point of closing so needs some force to latch closed.

I didnt notice this problem on the demo car I tried, but I did use that with the windows open.

Is this a "feature" of the IQ or should I be worried?

Thanks for replying, maybe its a common thing amoungst Toyotas? I had to slam the boot on the Aygo we had before quite hard to get it to close properly.

LOL!!!

We have to shut our doors quite hard sometimes. Will see if it is easier with a window down.

Another thing to add to the "It would be nice if" List,

The windows drop 15mm when the car door opens and close when door shut.

A number of cars have this facility, along with auto closing and opening of the door mirrors

Interesting! Doors certainly seem easier to shut with window down.

This is quite true but after getting used to closing the door quite hard do remember not all cars are like this......

My poor Roadster nearly turns over when Anne (Devil-ish) closes the door :shutit: ;)
