I suggest you to try adding some lamin-x protective film.

Just remember that too dark is an offence; and on brakes lights, likely to get you punted up the rear in strong sunlight.

you can paint it with a sprey...

you must open the headlights to paint. if you can, because It is not easy to open the headlights. you must make them hot putting in an oven to open. and then stick it again with cyclone glues.

taillights. it is very easy. just paint them from outside. there are special paint for taillights.

this is the sprey... 107901.jpg

Spraying only the inside won't make the whole lens dark like in the picture in the first post, but on the other hand it won't reduce amount of light passing through the lens. The result will look like this

I did not quite understand what you mean, but here is chrome painted in black

Here the glass is tinted (makes the chrome look darker, also darkens the spot where you have your high beam light). That is the place which you cannot darken by painting the chrome, beucase then it won't reflect any light

First option (painting the chrome parts on the inside) is legal everywhere, as it does not reduce amount of light. The other option (using dark protective film on top of the lens) I believe is illegal no matter where you live, as it reduces amount of light passing through the lens. However if you won't add too dark film the lights will look quite normal, just with small smoke effect and the amount of light passing will remaing high, so it will be hardly noticeable.

The rear is almost impossible to do legally, as you cannot paint the inside, it wouldn't be noticeable. So the only option is to add film/spray on the outside. Again, if you won't put too much, it will look very stealth and most probably you won't face any problems.
