Well I'm really at the end of wanting to be a Toyota owner with the mixture of car problems and dealership ineptitude.

Last year I posted over a period of several months and 4 visits to my dealership to stop my Aygo letting water in, now this year it developed the leaking water pump problem. No problem you might think, just get it replaced under warranty, which I have while having it serviced BUT they've only gone and scuffed the paint/lacquer off the top of the front bumper/grill.

Honestly nothing has been simple with this car, it's never a single trip to the dealer to get the faults it develops fixed, sorry Toyota but next year you will not be on my short list for a new car.

.... sorry just needed to rant.

Sorry to hear you have had so many problems. You must be unlucky with your car. I've had Toyota's for over 20 years and, touch wood, never a problem.

I have 2 now, a Prius t-spirit and a brand new Aygo (10 days old). I slightly worried with the Aygo after reading some of the comments on here and other websites, but let's hope my luck holds....

Oops, feel like a bit of a idiot now, seems the scuff mark was some sort stuff that got wiped along the top of the bumper when replacing the water pump, a cloth, water and elbow grease seem to have removed it

Hopefully nothing else will break on the car in the next 12 months.

My joy was short lived, thought I'd give the car a wash and found a spreading rust spot on the roof.

I find it slightly odd that, out of all the different car manufacturers that Toyota could have paired up with for the Aygo, they went with a French company who are not exactly well known for their build quality or reliability. If I had a problem with my Aygo I would not blame Toyota at all, because I know it's French crap but other people will blame Toyota because it's their Badge on the car...surely the pairing up with PSA for the Aygo will inevitably end up doing damage to the Toyota brand ???

Well I blame Toyota because it's got their Badge on it, hence their responsibility for the quality of the product. I drove the Peugeot and Citroën versions of the car before buying the Aygo and from behind the wheel almost the only way to tell which you were in was the Badge on the steering wheel.

BTW the leak problem I had with the doors was finally traced down to a poorly fitted membrane behind the speaker in the door, so caused by shoddy workmanship at the factory, in fact most my gripes with the Aygo can be summed up with "It has all the build quality of Citroën made in the Eastern Bloc"

it was made by a french car manufacturer, think the main engine design was done by toyota lol

Sorry to hear about your problems, but I think what makes a problem something that p*sses one off is not so much the problem with the car but how the dealer handles the problem. A relatively small problem with a car can turn into a major issue if you are dealing with a cr*p dealer.

My wife's Rav 4 went in for its third service a couple of weeks ago to the local main dealer. I noticed a stain on the brake servo and mentioned it to them. They said that there was indeed a brake fluid leak and booked the car in for the following Friday for repair under warranty. Car was fixed and completed by luchtime as promised on the arranged day. I was a little p*ssed off that a 2 year old car should have such a problem, but the efficieny of the dealer in sorting the problem means I am still a happy Toyota owner instead of a disgruntled one, and will buy Toyota again.

Are there any other Toyota main dealers near you that you could use instead? A change in dealers could make your ownership experience a happier one.
