HAVING MENTIONED THE SLIGHT CLUNK NOISE WHEN LETTING THE CLUTCH OUT WHEN CHANGING FROM 1ST TO 2ND AND 2ND TO 3RD GEARS

A WEEK OR SO AGO ON THIS WEBSITE , TODAY I DECIDED TO LET BENFIELD TOYOTA IN LEEDS LISTEN TO IT.

AND SURPRISE SURPRISE THE TECHNICAN THAT WENT FOR A DRIVE WITH ME SAID " ITS A NORMAL NOISE"

HE DID CHECK ALL THE MOUNTINGS WERE NOT LOOSE AS A PRECAUTION AND SAID " ITS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT"

SOUNDS LIKE IM STUCK WITH IT !

Yeah, pre-delivery inspection not thoroughly carried out, things missed off the service that i had been charged for, things added to the service that i hadn't authorised, a booked courtesy car suddenly not being available...

I could go on but you get the idea!

Benfield Wakefield seem a lot better on the servicing side of things but aren't really clued up when i try and order parts!

smack the the guy that told you it's normal upside the head for being incompetent. :P

Take the car to another dealer for inspection. I have an Auris 1.8 and do not hear such noises.

The chatter is in the gearbox i know because i have had this noise from approx 4,000 miles in my Auris D4D the vehicle has been in the dealers in my area the stripped the gearbox down checked all measurements and settings changed all bearings in the gearbox

feed back from the repair the chatter is still there but the gearchange is a lot better my vehicle has done 49,000 miles on a 08 plate
