Steering Creaking On Full Lock

I have a 56 reg Yaris Ion. On my last service at a Toyota main dealer they noted on the service report that there was a creaking noise from both top front suspension mounts.

I noticed someone else has previously mentioned the same problem with their Yaris in this forum. Sorry to bring the topic up again but i'm just looking for some clarification as there was also mention of "creaking steering" being a known issue to Toyota, requiring replacement of the steering coloum. Does anyone know if these are two seperate problems causing similar symptoms or they directly related faults. Also, my Yaris is covered by a Toyota approved used warranty but the dealer has told me it will be up to Toyota to say if the repair would be covered, this concerns me as it sounds like it could be expensive. The noise doesn't bother me but if it could cause problems I guess it should be repaired now. Any advice would be very welcome.
