Rumbling Noise At Slow Speed

Hi all, has anyone got any idea what could be causing my problem. I have only heard it at slow speed and it sounds like it's coming from the front of the car, it's a constant rumbling sound. The only way to explain it is like the sound you get approaching a roundabout that has rumble strips to slow you down.

I had similar symtoms from the back of my Honda Accord. I thought loose exhaust or wheel bearings at first. But it turned out to be uneven wear across the flat of my tyres. While part of the tryre was gripping, the other part was trying to grip and slipping on the road surface. Producing this rubling sound. They wear all within legal limits but had worn badly due to alignment being out and probably wrong tyre pressures (ahem! from the previous owner). As soon as I had a 4 wheel alignment done with 2 new rear tyres all symtoms dissappearded.

Hope this helps...........

Thanks i'll check the rear tyres at the weekend. Only had the car 2 weeks and the front tyres are new so guess it wont be them.

Checked all tyres and they are all fine. Anyone got any other idea's what could be causing this anoying rumble noise. Just a thought could it be the wheel bearings ?
