Window Regulator

I need a new window regulator on my left front door (left hand drive Carina E 96 made in England). The one I have now is electric, and the motor still works. Will I be able to replace the regulator parts with the parts from a manual window? Will it be the same part if it is from a Japanese made car? Will it be the same part if it is from a RHD car, or is it special because of the main control unit being located on the driver side?
