Alarm Going Off By Itself

this is my first post on the forum although i have found it to be of immense value over the last year. thank you all.i have a 2004 avensis but lately the alarm goes off at times when the car is just sitting in the driveway. has anyone experienced a similar problem before.once you unlock and relock the doors with the remote it seems to be ok again.thanks.

has the car still got the original Battery, if it has it could be a sign of low Battery power. when the Battery is low it can cause the alarm to go off.

thanks dave,but the Battery seems to be in good shape but i will monitor the situation and see if there are other conditions that have changed that could be causing this cheers.

Hi had the same problem with my 03 model= it was the rear boot lock-kept going off until replaced never haqppened again!

Mine did this a couple of weeks ago, for the first time, just before midnight. At first I thought maybe a cat had jumped up on the car, but I don't think the alarm is that sensitive. Could it be possible for maybe a spider or fly to walk over the sensor, would that be enough to set it off?

Me myself actually am quite happy I didn't get an alarm when i purchased my car.

Driving other cars of all sorts of makings, I've learned alarms are more of a

hassle than help.

I have had the Avensis alarm sounding late at night for no apparent reason. It has happened a few times recently usually at 11pm, 1am or later! It has not gone off during daylight, could it be leaves causing a street lamp to seem like it is flashing or is movement in the car needed? Any ideas anyone? It is a 2006 model T3X. Thanks.
