having just had the clutch master cylinder replaced to cure a squeaky clutch pedal at main dealers the noise is still there when warm.

ive looked through old posts and come across a old thread by somebody called DEEKAY 140.who said try pulling back rubber boot on trans where the shift fork goes through and spray with penertrating grease, theres even a photo which i cant match with anything under my bonnet.please can anyone help with pointing me in the right direction as to where to look (i dont know much about engines )which plastic covers do i take off etc

maybe ven one of you nice guys may like to photograph the part to help me . heres hoping ! thanks

also i have about 2-3 mm of free play in clutch pedal. is this normal, dont know if it was like that before it went in for new master cylinder.

turns out the dealer didnt change the clutch master cylinder after all, but didnt bother to pass the message on to the guy that delivered my car back to me .

anway being totally fed up with the ongoing sqeak went back to the main dealer ,had the tech listen to it, i also gave him the info i found as above on this website, and toyota now say the bell housing will have to come off and be greased up, he says just pulling the gaitor back and greasing it wont work long term. so the bell housing removal job will take about 5 hours.

at this point i asked if they had changed master cylinder last week as they said they would (even told me when i booked it in last week they

would have to order the part in)they checked on computer, and all it said was they changed rusting wheel nuts under warranty, nothing about the master cylinder ? the tech and the service guy in a suite claimed not to know what had happened last week.selective amnisia by the sounds of it

what a complete joke. god knows if this latest attempted fix will work ?

If its still covered by warranty then it would be best for them to remove the 'box to grease up the clutch arm pivot ball.

If it were out of warranty then im sure doing it with the 'box still fitted etc would help with the noise for a while.

Have had to grease up a few different models over the years.

Mart.
