D4-D T180 Engine Layout And Accesories

I`m at the stage where I would like to know what the various components (incl. important sensors/valves are under my engine body and especially WHERE they are.

As Haynes in the UK havn`t yet got around to producing an owners manual, is there anywhere I can get hold of a decent picture of my engine or better still engine bay showing where the main components and sensors are ?

For example, I cleaned my EGR valve assembly recently and my MAF sensor but I`d simply like to know my way around my engine bay to be able to sight and locate some of the other important parts and sensors.

I spotted a small black box at the back of my engine on the bulkhead with two thin pressure pipes going into it - I know it is important but would like to know what it is and what it does. This is only 1 example of the sort of information I am looking for.

Can anyone help ?

I think the little box you are looking at is mentioned/photed in this thread http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=106241 I think its the dpf sensor.

http://www.toyota-tech.eu/ is also a good source of info, pay a few pound for an hours access and I think you can get most of the info you need tech wise straight from toyota. Or atleast enough to keep you busy working out what is what.

Is the little box the DPF Presure sensor ? Its certainly not the EGR valve :)

Do you know what roll this plays in the process ?
