Can anyone tell me definitely, absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt what the actual kerb weight of a 2003 RAV-4 VX D4D is I have spent hours over this now , it isn`t quoted in the handbook and so far I`ve had answers of 1370kg - 1485kg.

I have found a Toyota figure of 1485kg for the VX the same off Parkers Guide but I`m still not sure.

Need to know for towing a caravan.

Anyone know for certain?

I can tell you without any shadow of doubt that a kerb weighs at least 90kg. We have several types in stock just now and can deliver

No, that will depend what planet you are on :P. (I won't ask ).

Anyway, from Toyota brochure dated Jan 2002. I can't see a 2003 VX being any different:

well, you did ask.

If you want the weight of your car, the only way you will ascertain this is by filling it full of fuel, sitting in it with whoever else will be sitting in the car and taking it to the local scrap merchant, carrying a 1kg bag of suger. You get the car et al weighed then drive round, throwing the bag of suger out and picking up the chitty showing the weight of the car - gross. That is yer kerb weight. Now BEHAVE AND GO AND DO IT.

Obviously the weight of the car will change depneding on what you have stored in it like tools, passengers, fuel, windscreen washer fluid, and the number of CDs. :P back

Toyota technical after much discussion eventually obliged with the correct kerb weight and it was in excess of 90kg then I had already confirmed the weight approx` on the local tip weigh bridge.

And if you thought that was complicated, wait till you deal with airlines , who can declare different MTOW (Maximum TakeOff Weight) - on which the calculation of airport landing fees are often based - for the same aircraft type....
