Brakes Nightmare!

Today as well having new tyres done I replaced the rear pads on my TS, They sounded to be grinding but on taking them off didnt look as bad as I expected, Anyway I did one side fine put it all back together and then moved onto other side, Got my giant bar out to undo the wheelnuts and Crack! I broke one of the studs! I tightened up the others went to my local tyre place had them all loosened and tightened and then went to the local Stealer.....

Need 1 rear wheel stud for a TS please...ok ....Comes back a few minutes dont have the exact one....but this one is similar..How much.....£5 will do mate......£5 for that...I coughed the money and left quickly....Seriously £5!!!!

Anyway I got home had the wheel and caliper off and tried to get the disc off, Hammered it, Forced it, kicked it punched it and headbutted it!

Nothing...searched on here nothing! Apparently you can't remove the disc with the handbrake on!! :crybaby: :censor: :eek:

I cant believe I was so stupid not to think about that, I didnt realise the drum works on the inside of the disc, Once the handbrake was released it just fell off!

The stud then just hammered out and the new one went in quite easily, I tightened it with an old nut I had to seat it correctly and put all the bits back together, Changed the pads and all is fine,

So I learnt a lot about the Yarii today, I do wonder now if buying the pads myself for £22 and fitting was time and money well spent!

The fear I felt when that stud snapped.....At least I know If I do it again its easily fixed, I was going to ask the stealer for 2 studs but at £5 each its not one for my spares box!
