Key Fob Reprogramming-Security Implications

Just been reading about the Toyota £40-50 rip-off to reprogram a key fob. I tried the 2-button tip myself and it worked.

But doesn't this little trick have security issues. Couldn't I, if so minded, scour car-parks for a Toyota, use it to reprogram my fob, then break in? And couldn't someone do it to me?

The reprogram seemed to be (it worked, second time). Don't know about using someone else's toyota, must ask the toyo skilled mechanic when I feel the need to shed some surplus cash.

£40 for a 30 second (top-side) reprogram works out at about £4800 an hour.
