Toyota Problems Not Over Yet

Toyota cannot and never have been able to build small cars cheaply, that is why they went into partnership with PSA to produce the Aygo/C1/107 PSA have a tradition of being able to source componants and build cars to a low budget, that is what you get with these models. At least with Toyota you get a 3 year warranty, Peugeot offer 2 years plus the third year being offered by the dealer and we all know what that means  You have to expect that on a budget model, it is likely that componants will need replacing sooner than on a high end specification car

It's been said before: leaving a car stationary over prolongued periods

of time can actually be worse than driving it 3000mi a day for a year...

That's why manufactors state a mileage AND a time period.

I agree with you Jan,

My Peugeot 106 was off the road for one year.

When I tried to get her back on the road. Naturally the Battery had died. The exhuast eventually fell off after a month after getting her back on the raod. The brake discs had "pitted".

Leaving a car off the road, and not using her for LONG periods periods can cause damage, unless its in proper storage.

Have anyone noticed brake discs are the first to suffer? Rust building up as early as 3-4 days after rain if the car has not been moved.

The rear drums on my Aygo were rusty when I bought it
