Air Con

Just one for any interested parties, 90% of all air-con problems are caused by a lack of use of the air/con system. If not switched on every week for a good 10 minutes or so the sealing rings dry up & allow the refridgerant/oil mixture to escape = R134a in most cases. From memory a posting from Forum User some time back had an answer from Igormus to this effect, he's pretty well clued up on the a/c side of things. And that's what we see at work in the majority of cases, leaks.

Regards, Beagh.

go to kwik fit

they promise you if the a/c doesn't work no charge

just go there and act daft and don't say anything about trying to have it done by Mr T

Hardly a specialist.... the only thing I trust them to do is remove wheels and even them it takes some consideration.

Get to an A/C specialist and pay a small charge to have it done properly by someone who knows what he is doing, instead of reading it out of a book they can barely read themselves.

But haven't you heard? "You can't get better than a Kwik-Fit fitter" :bash: ROFL!

I went to a AC specialist; he first topped up the system and never noticed it had a leak (Lots of AC oil around), I dried the oil took it back and he could not see the leak with his UV light, I found the leak with a mirror underneath, he fitted a new pipe and charged me again €100 for the top + fiting €405

ah well that's a shame. :( Sorry that you didn't get any service, the specialist near me is fantastic and does it very very cheaply.

I still don't trust Kwik-Fit, and never will, but everyone to their own. Your car, your choice.
