Sunroof

1989Celica

Hi,

I have recently bought a 1989 (generation 4?) Celica, which for what I paid (£450!) was the bargain of the century. I used to have a 1999 Astra SRi which I sold to pay for a deposit on a house with my girlfriend and I'm glad I did. The Celica is the best car I have ever owned! Perhaps I have a good example but the drive is great and its so fun to drive.

Its generally in good order with everything working and low mileage. Problem is, there is rust around the edges of the sunroof. I have thought about filling and painting the sunroof but it might just be easier to buy a replacement. Anyone know of any specialist companys who sell them? I havent tried Toyota direct as it would be a lot cheaper to find a good second hand one.

welcome to Celica's matey!

sorry I can't help you with the replacement have you tried the breaker advertising on the top of this page?,

had a 1989 Gen 4 for the last 7 years, finally sold her with 175,000 miles and mechanically was still going strong, never ever let me down, just the bodywork was going a bit round the arches.......and sunroof but was sorry to see her go.

How many miles has yours done?

It's just done 100k which for a 15 year old car isnt bad. Its runs like it has done a lot less though. I'm also surprised at the quality of the interior too - the seats feel like new.

I tried the link at the top of the page but the connection crashed. I am at work at the moment and my machine is a bit tempremental. I will have a good surf on this site tonight and perhaps (if i can) add a few pictures of my Celica.

Cheers
