Engine Management

Hi hope someone can help me. I have a red engine management light that comes on on my 1990 MR2 japanese import when car warms up and sits in traffic. My guess is the heating system. The light is a red engine management light with 3 lines and an 8 on the left hand side of the light. I dont have a handbook or manual for the car and i also have to do the diagnotics the old fashened way by bridging two terminals but again data doent tell me anything about this light. Car runs below revs when cold i have changed water pump and blead the water system and now clueless If anyone can help me on this i would be very grateful as its getting annoying now. Thanks.

Welcome to TOC, it would be far more useful if you could tell us what engine it is i.e. 3S-GE / 3S-FE etc

Also why are your diagnostics not helping? When they read the code off you can google it and it will appear in the search results.

If you have working diagnostics kits you can do this easily mate. ;)
