The Toyota Sprint Series

How it all started:

Back in mid 2007 two likeminded friends Barry Cross & Adrian Smith disillusioned with there being no specific race series for Toyota (Barry had a GT4 & Adrian a Corolla and a Celica) decided that they would set up the Toyota Sprint Series.

With Adrian’s business contacts and Barry’s forum contacts the Toyota Sprint Series was born.

The Toyota Sprint Series is the one and only non-corporate/privately run race series for Toyota & Lexus cars, it is open to all types and standards of cars from a 998cc Yaris to a 2.2lit beast whether it’s your daily run around or a completely stripped track monster and now there is even a class for those with non-Toyota/Lexus cars which allows everyone to enjoy the thrill of the safest motorsport around.

All you need to take part is a car (you could even share a car with a friend) with a valid MOT and hold a driving license, helmets are available to hire at a very reasonable price and you are guaranteed a good day of fun and competition.

How it Works:

Cars are split into the following classes:

Class A1: Over 1600cc Forced Induction.

Turbo – Free

Class A2: Over 1600cc Forced Induction.

Vehicles must retain standard turbocharger housings – internal turbo modifications such as hybrids are allowed, the

turbocharger must retain an internal wastegate.

Class B: Up to 1600cc Forced Induction

Class C: Over 1600cc Normally Aspirated

Class D: Up to 1600 cc Normally Aspirated

Class E: Diesel

Class F: Up to 1000cc Normally Aspirated

Unlike a track day there is only you & your car out on track, so there’s absolutely no chance of you colliding with another car or another car colliding with you. The only time there will be other cars on track at the same time is during the 2 ‘sighting’ laps which take place after the briefing session which allow you to get to see and understand the track before you go out for your 2 practice runs. Everyone goes out in class and number order from the pit area.

After your 2 practice runs the timed runs start.

As a rule there are 4 timed runs in the morning a break for lunch (there’s on-site catering at each venue) and then another 4 timed runs in the afternoon followed by a short break and then the awards ceremony for the day.

It is officially the safest form of motorsport you can do.

'Supporters' aka friends, relatives, pit crew are welcome to all events but due to security it is asked that they are registered. The price of supporter tickets is £4.00 This offer is only available if the supporter entry is paid by the driver at the same time as he/she pays the entry fee. (to cut down on admin)

Any supporter not attached to a championship driver will have to pay the full price of £6.00.
