Foggy Headlights

Hi,

my Avensis 55 plate has had foggy headlights for the past couple of months now and have been told by the MOT people that i need replacements as the seals have broken. I want to replace with genuine parts but at a reasonable cost. I have seen some genuine headlights on eBay for £80 each but are off a 2006 Avensis (with the black headlights instead of the chrome). I was wondering if they would still fit my 55 plate model T3-S.

Cheers

Can the seals not be replaced??

i dont know that model car, but dont you need access to change the bulb? It is just as likely water got in through there.

When I had this problem I left the lights on to heat up the glass, then took of the rubber seal to let the hot, moist air out.

Did that a few times over the course of a week and the fog cleared, I sealed up the hole that was causing the problem and the car did another 100,000 miles without further fogging.
