Not Vehicle Specific

This is a question about 2.5l + engines.

Will a bigger engine, namely 2.5l upwards, suffer through more stop start driving, around town.

Will an engine of that size be liable to head/gasket faults moreso than a smaller engine, say up to 2l. What other potential problems are more likely under these conditions.

We find ourselves in a situation where we need, not so much want, something along the lines of a Land Cruiser, Shogun. Purely for vehicle size due to disability. Most of these class of vehicles tend to have the big engines.

Could petrol or diesel have any pros/cons over each other.

Hope this post makes sense.

Hmmm!! Thanks.

I just assumed the short journeys would kill the engine sooner. I know the fuel economy would suffer but petrol or diesel for a bigger engine??

Nah course it wouldn't! Will be fine mate. If you're really worried then make sure that you use a really good oil.

I used Castrol Magnatec which supposedly cause less damage during start-up by just clinging to engine components more so that they are readily lubricated when parts start moving again.
