Unable To Eject Sat Nav Dvd

A friend has a 2006 Lexus 220D fitted with a DVD based Sat Nav.

It is very simliar, but not the same, as ones fitted to some Toyota Avensis cars c2005-2008.

The Sat Nav reports it cannot read the data on the disk.

Trouble is, it will not go past the first screen anymore so he cannot press the on-screen eject button.

Any ideas on how the DVD can be made to come out? The car's warranty has long expired!

thanks in advance for any practical advice.

I would have thought it could be removed by lifting the top off the player unit and the disc can be seen to remove it but i reckon the hard part if like the avensis is under the seat would be removing the unit itself to lift the top off.

i have only done the job on normal dvd players and i would imagine the layout is the same.

The Sat Nav unit (TNS 700) is mounted in the dash, it is not under the seat or in the boot.
