Coolant Question.

I know i should know this, but here goes. The coolant in my new Aygo is pink, the coolant in all my previous cars was blue.

Is the coolant for the Aygo anything specific i.e. a certain type or mixture, if not then can i just top up with the remaining blue fluid i have left over in the garage?

It's just the fob, you will need an alarm as well :D

It's just the fob, you will need an alarm as well :D

Hardy har har...but seriously. why do they refer to it specifically as an Aygo alarm fob. Some sorta scam no doubt..What about the coolant?

The coolant is S-LLC (Toyota super long life) which is pink and good for the first 36 months.

I would get some if you need to top up.

i cant see that your aygo toyota anyifreeze would be different than my auris (super longlife).

if its not diluted or contaminated and up to the correct strength (50%0 it can be left in very much longer

than 36 months, ive seen 50000 miles quoted and evan the life of the car.

no harm in changing early for peace of mind, but 36 months is a waste of time and money and pointless.

your not getting mixed up with changing brake fluide changing intervels are you.

Sorry doomjeffs my previous posting as acetip rightly points out was incorrect. I misread and quoted the life for the LLC red or blue.

The S.LLC is from new 90,000 miles thereafter 54,000 miles. They no longer give a life in years for the S.LLC .

On my previous old Corolla it was said to be good for 6 years.

Brake fluid is a recommended change every two years.

Isn't the Pink Coolant good for 10YRS/100K miles?

I'll have to check my handbook - but I'm sure it'll go 5 years (or miles) before it needs doing.
