hi, i am trying to put adapter for inside the car where it will sits somewhere right in the center between the dash and the front windscreen. so that i can plug my accessories straight into it instead of use a different cable to plug into the cigarette lighter which is too far away for the accessories to reach.

i have one red and black cable for the adapter

red(with a fuse inbetween the cable) been live i presume and earth for the black.

my question is where do i connect these to and how do i reach up to the front of the dash slot between the window?

or potentially i could possibly wiring it to where the stereo is and come out just right above the stereo.

can i wiring the red cable to the same power cable the stereo use? or do i have to go to the main feed?

thanks in advance

hi kenz

i part way through adding a supplementary dierection buzzer to my indicators, but having to put the project on hold as have grandchildren staying, what with kepinge them entertained, taking out in the car to coast zoo etc.

was looking for some suitable connection point on indicator system.

i suggest you try this, lower your steering column to its lowest point,(there is is a little lever under the wheel for adjustment) the cover for the instrument cluster pulls of very easy, i was surprised, there are 4 screws

to remove to take out the instument housing, and the cable to it gives you plenty of room to swing it out of the way.

you now have several wiring harnesses.but the wiring systems in cars is nothing like they use to be with different control systems and wires are much thinner. so be very careful where you pick up your live feed from

as you could cause expensive problems.

i am no auto electrcion by a long chalk, but have fitted things loads of etras etc but not on the latest type of wiring systems.

so go softly, softly before you start connecting anything up.
