Hi, Does anyone know of any Aygo's breaking in breaker yards around your area.I have a damaged Scuttlepanel (offside only ...panel comes in 2 parts) and i am struggling to get this part without paying mega money and have not traced any available on eBay or around my area. I have asked Kingo but the price was £88 + vat for just the offside Scuttlepanel so its more than i can afford to pay at the moment...Cheers Colin

Sorry, but I didn't even know what a Scuttle Panel was :D

That's the piece below the windshield, right?

In that case my help would be useless as they

differ between RHD and LHD cars :!Removed!:

Know how you feel. lol. A lot of people dont bother replyimg of contributing, but hey. Its a forum, and some of us do reply but depends when we`re online. I wasnt on for 3 days as I was out most of the time.

You might also tell us what a "scuttle panel" is. Its NOT something I ve heard of before. You using your own jargon no one understands? lol

The price of £88 + vat quoted by Kingo seems quite reasonable for a new part.

Are you sure that you should be changingthe part if you cannot afford it?

If I had something constructive to say I would have replied, but I didn't so I kept quiet ..... For a change some might say. :yahoo:

Have a search for Traynors car dismantlers on the web, they show a number of Aygos in stock on their website. There are some dismantlers selling Aygo parts on eBay also, so you could contact them about the part you need. It's probably not something that they will be advertising for sale.

I still think it's the part below the windshield.

But it's typical that welshviking doesn't respond anymore

after complaining about the lack of response...

I will post the answer later, but curious why Red Yaris 54 has already given a price fpor a scuttle panel already and then asks me to enlighten him? Hmmmm!

The term scuttle panel tends to be a british term.

Like Rolf Harris says: "Can you tell what it is yet"? lol

Firstly i apoligies about my post complaining that no one had replied (it was out of order and not like me). Secondly a quote by red yaris 54 "Are you sure that you should be changing the part if you cannot afford it?" , myself i think thats a bit over the top, i simply could not afford to pay £88 + vat as a lot of bills have come up in July/August and that why i was looking for a better price. Finally the one which shocked me was the reply by Jan (who i respect a lot).....Jans reply was "But it's typical that welshviking doesn't respond anymore after complaining about the lack of response" ...now i will tell you the reason i have not replied Jan, my elderly mother has been diagnosed with a heart problem so i have been staying in her home looking after her until she felt better, she is 76 and has no computer so thats why i never replied.......Regards Colin

Scuttle panel, NOT a back scuttle panel which is something completely different :naughty:

Also called a louvre or ventilator panel elswhere, usually known as a scuttle panel in the UK

Kingo

Sorry to hear about your mum Welshviking - hope she recovers soon.

Like yourself I haven't been on the forum for a while for personal reasons.

Yes anyone who is familar with car body parts nomenclature knows what a scuttle panel is. It's the panel that sits just below the windscreen area and usually has drainage openings and channels to carry away water yet allow the intake of air to the heating system. The name derives from a nautical term.

Yes £103 does sound expensive for all it is but good luck with your search. Good old Fleabay or scrappies is your best bet though.:)

Sorry if I offended you, I absolutely did not intend to do so, especially in this context.

I was having a bit of a bad day too, so I apologize. I sincerely hope your mother gets well soon.

My comment regarding not changing the part if you could not afford it was intended to get you to think that maybe you should wait until you can afford it..............I am sure that your car will not disintegrate if you delayed the changing of it until you could afford the part.

Hope that things go well for your mother

You may be curious Ironman...........but if you read my post you would see that I was quoting a price supplied in an earlier post by Kingo.

If you knew what a "scuttle panel" was why did you not post up earlier instead of talking in riddles?
