T-Spirit 2.2 D4D Anything To Look Out For Before Purchase?

I have just begun looking for a T-Spirit 2.2 D4D I want the Chain driven cam so I think this is 2006 2007 so I am looking in that area, any feedback from owners would be useful, things to watch out for and ask questions about would be helpful.

All 2.2 diesels are chain driven.

Look out for leaking waterpump, timing chain oil leaks, knocking from engine when cold (injectors - unless replaced for modified type), poor starting/acceleration (blocked/stuck open EGR valve).

Hi Dale look out for a late 2007 with full Toyota service history as you will still have full warranty so any problems found soon after buying the car will be sorted FOC. If can get one from a Toyota dealership push then for an extended warranty as part of the deal (normal warranty is 3 years or 60,000 miles so bear that in mind), this will give you peace of mind for the future.

There are potential problems buying any second hand car these days due to the high cost of parts and labour, the 2.2 d4d 150 T-spirit is a really nice car to drive and I don't think you will be disappointed, I love mine..

Check brake discs and pads, they wear out very quickly these days (as they do on all cars of course). Not cheap if all 4 sets need replacing via Mr.T.
