Hi,

Is it possible to fit 18 x 8" alloys on an ST205 without any fears of tyre catching or bottoming out?

Also without any need for arch mods..

TIA.

depends on the alloy design etc. if your keeping the same rolling diameter you'll need the same offset as standard. CHECK the clearance to the front caliper as they're meaty 4 pots!

Tar,

I would want to keep the same rolling diameter and offset.

What size tyre would you recommend in order to keep the same diameter?

The wheels I like are the 18x8 and the 17x7.5 Compomotive MO series. The 18x8 are the 6 spoke and the 17x7.5 are 5 spoke.

Basically the wheels that are used by the WRC teams.

Thanx again.

Nice wheel choice mate!

I've got 8x18" Comp MO's on my '94 SS2 fitted with 215/35/18 tyres - loads of room in the arches, no probs getting full lock etc

Bit of advice - If you go for a 35 profile get a tyre with some decent rim protection....i didnt :crybaby:

Thanx WillB,

You have made my day!

Do you think 40 or better still 45 profile tyres will also fit under without too much worries regarding rolling diameter and catching etc?

Try looking at this tire size calculator Tire Size Calculator put standard tyre size in on left try different combos on the right,

Just below the tyre it says by what percentage your speedo will be out, try to get it as close as possible :) prety simple really

Andy.

ps. dont forget standard size is 215/50R16

Forgot to mention CHECK CLEARANCE BETWEEN SPOKES and CALIPERS (sorry for shouting but can't emphasise that enough)

You dont want to bs nice expensive alloys then find they wont fit ;)
