Unleaded Or Super Unleaded (Tesco)

Hey giys , I have done asearch without success.

We are going driving around Wales next week and although we always use the Tesco standard unleaded I was wondering wether we should UPGRADE to their Super Unleaded just for the time we will be touring the glorious Welsh hills and coastline/s ??

ANy thoughts on the matter , blow the extra cost let's live on the edge for a couple of days :)

If it gives us a slightly more smooth ride and a tidsy bit more acceleration and power it will be worth it .

Any suggestions on the subject ??

It makes a noticeable difference with diesel. I doubt you do any better than break even with any extra mileage but for me its knowing that the EGR and injectors are kept clean etc.

It can't do any harm that is for sure

Ours is a petrol not diesel incidently

Subtlety put!

Seriously, I only use Shell V-Power in all my petrol burning cars... both RAVs need it cos they are tuned to use the higher octane - using lower stuff would knock the engine.

The Previa I have runs slightly better on V-power.

I have used Tesco higher octane when Shell wasn't available but normally I avoid supermarket petrol like the plague. (figure of speech so I'm told).

So will our Rav 4.1 Sport W reg year 2000 be the same as your two or have you souped up your Ravs ??

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

mine have changed just a tad, but I'd still expect yours to be nippy.

You could try asking the VXR owner who got cuffed by my lowly RAv on the drag strip........ however he's never been seen again

So you reckon it may be worth it just for a couple of tankfulls of Super Unleaded in our bog standard Rav, 2ooocc ,petrol, Year 2000 ??

Far be it for me to absolutely persist it down on your parade but no amount of super unleaded will make your car go like Bothy's. Lets just say it is a "special"
