Hi,

I've been on about this one before, and just wondered if anyone had solved the problem or found a way round it??

It's the jerky start off with the MMT gearbox, that happens usually after an overnight stand.

I'm learning to live with it, but it'd be great if someone has found a way of stopping this from happening without it needing a trip to the garage!

Cheers....

Raggy.

Park your car facing down a hill lol I find that a little more revs sorts it out I find mine does it when warm but use little more rev and very little release of the clutch resolves this

It's an mmt - no clutch pedal!

Raggy, do you mean the lag between 1st and 2nd?? If so, just lift the gas pedal slightly and you will get a nice smooth change. If that's not what you mean, sorry can't help.

The problem is setting off from a cold start... usually first thing in the morning; when the move-off is VERY juddery!!

After another stop/start or two, things are fine.

It needs a modified clutch in it! Aygo have suffered from clutch judder and if it's still in warranty have it in to your dealer to sort out

I have a 107 with 2 tronic box (similar to MMT but no creep or easy start as Toyota call it) . I experience the same jerkiness on a cold start. I beleive it has more to do with the roughness of the three cylinder engine before it has warmed up rather than the gearbox.

My 2 tronic box has a fault in that in a manouevering exercise the clutch will sometimes fail to engage at low revs and then comes in with a violent lurch at higher revs. It is booked in for this problem.

I had a Corolla with MMT box for five years and it gave no trouble at all.

Raggy, have you tried to give the engine a 15 sec rest upon starting and before driving off in the morning? Remember it`s a 3 cylinder pot and needs some time to get into its rhythm!

Thanks everyone for your comments.... much appreciated.
