Hello I just joined I have had a fairly good - I suppose - toyota corrolla verso for about 3 years. Its been a good motor though feel theres something not being looked at when i get it serviced at my 'local' toyota garage. I dont know what it is but when ever i drive im concious of a feeling between the tyres and the road that says watch your pressures. I check it and all is ok. I get the feeling something is about to happen.I hope not as my wife also drives the car. Its probably my feet which have an altered sensory pattern due to diabetes. Some things I feel are not there yet, others I dont feel till its too late. From the beginning: I bought a 1 year old, car, rarity I was told but there was no rreason to believe them, petrol 1800cc ixion blue metallic £11350 i think. It had a scraped handle which was changed under warrantee, a windscreen whch was damaged they did nothing about in reality, nor the few paint scratches, though recently it cracked so had to be done (£75) and annoying scrape was heard every time it was driven after the rain which they told me at the toyota garage was due to rust on the brake disks?? is this common?? as isnt common with all the other cars Ive driven, they offered to change or skim the discs - but then didnt do it. And no rear parcel covering so the back seats didnt havbe much to prevent anyone sitting in them falling back if the mechanism was put under any undue strain. I asked and they told me off and then got me one. which was good of them - but I didnt appreciate the '<the spuds of lurrrrvve>ing' I got, which they deserved for trying to do me out of an essential car part - perhaps, not intentionally though - just sloppy.

On my last service they managed to mess up one of the bleed nipples by over tightening it causing loss of fluid from the master cylinder out throuth the slack nipple I think. This was 'fixed' but how the hell they managed to do it in the first place puzzles me, if a safety/quality check was carried out at the end of the service would have picked this up surely?

I dont know how it was 'fixed' as couldnt be at the mechanics side to watch him do it, at yet another appointment, but I suppose the only cost to me was the time off work. Id already paid £330 for the service + the cost of the brakes doing in the first place another £120-ish so came away with the feeling that NOT all at Toyota is committed to quality all the time.

Now al that remains wrong with the car is a drivers side front wheel hub cap missing believed not fitted correctly not checked during service. though i get the feeling by driving with drivers side window open that not all is well with that wheel bearing or suspension, which may have caused the loss in the first place. it sounds as though drivers side front wheel is coming off. and a rear offside passenger door trim could be replaced as was found damaged when i bought it - caused by the kids in the back of previous owner rough treatment of the car.

Come on Toyota, I do have faith that you can do it, get it right please. I know you will get it right.

cheers

Frank Kennedy.
