Hi all,

Just bought a 1997 Celica GT,

The ABS light is on, when i turn on the ignition i cannot hear the abs pump fire up.

Where do i start? I have already searched the forums and found about connecting some diagnostic ports to receive a code, but i dont get the right answers when i follow their advice.

Thanks in advance

Ben

That is the advice mate. get it plugged into a diagnostic machine. Anything else is mearly a guess. Chances are you will have a wheel speed sensor gone down. getting it plugged in is the quickest way to find out which. Other option is to resistance check each sensor in turn.

any toyota garage will give you a code read for free , they will then try to charge you £10,000 to fix it. :yahoo:

the guide i put on this here forum http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47053=http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47053 will give you the same answers as they will, the toyota techs that tested my car were as clueless as i was , wanting to change the ECU for £1000 . i finally found the problem was a blown fuse in the fusebox .
