Car Is Hard To Start And Wont Idile

hi ihave 2006 avensis d4d and its hard to start when u get it started it wont idle on its own for about 10 till 15 minutes

the engine management light is on . once u get it to idile on its on u can drive it but when u knock it off

it will not idile on its own again any one no what it could be thanks for your time

Hi mate it could be one of a few things but lets start with an easy one .... disconnect the Battery, leave it for a while then reconnect it. You may be very lucky and cleared the fault if not it hasn't cost you anything, let us know the result and someone will come back with the next step.

THANKS PETE I ALREADY TRIED THAT AND IT DID NOT WORK MATE ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS

HI D4D777,

Have you checked that the glow-plugs are working and there is power getting to same. Might be the glow-plug fuse blown or the glow-plugs themselves are burnt out...???

Another option is that your fuel filter is blocked and might need to be changed...???
