Hello. Is it possible to get and have fitted a reversing sensor kit for my avensis? I have a problem judging the car when reversing and think this would help. If this is possible where could I get one from.

Many thanx.

Hi Tutster,

Its very easy to fit reversing sensors to any car, you can even get some that attach to your number plate meaning you dont need to drill any holes!

Personally i'd choose the standard 4 sensors though that you fit into the back bumper. I fitted some on my last car as my partner drove it - a Picasso. Its very simple, and they cost me £25 and came with the drill bit to drill the holes. If you do it yourself you need to make sure you have enough room behind the bumper without taking it off! I'd lie down on the floor and reach up behind your bumper and see how far up their remains a gap. They have to be fitted at a particular hight or will pick allot of road stones or pot holes up.

Its beginning to sound complicated but honestly its a piece of cake!

If you'd rather someone else fit them then Toyota install them, Halfords and many other car stores including most car audio shops although to have them fitted its normally about £200 upwards!

Hope this is of some help

Surely it would have been easier and safer to fit, if the car was stationary :D .

Sorry couldnt resist !!
