Hi All, my wifes rav4.1 has developed a water leak when it rains, which has wet the drivers carpet only. I've trawled the web and have decided a drainge hole is blocked.....I'm assuming two types of draninge 1,general rain water drainage, and 2,a/c water drainage. It has only become apparent in the last couple of weeks. Can anyone advise me where the holes are so i can clear them Thanks

welcome to the forum.

I can't comment much on the a/c. However the commonest problem with this age of RAV is a water leak developing from a poor seal on the windscreen. It tracks down behind the dash and footwell and gets to the bottom where it will begin to rust the floor. There is a rubber grommet on the floor from memory which you can remove to drain the flood. Another possible is the drain tube taking water down the front of the bulkhead being blocked. Or a leak at the sunroof if you have one.

If its the windscreen which happened after I had a screen replaced, its a devil of a job and won't be fixed until the screen is removed and re-sealed.

On my Rav-4, a plugged AC drain will flood the passenger side carpet.  Dealer Service departments claim a common reason is that a spider has created a Nest in the drain tube
