Avensis Tourer 2009/10 Towbar Problem

Advice needed.

I have a swan neck towbar fitted by Toyota that has only 50mm clearance between the bumper and the towball on my Avensis Tourer 2009/10.

This is causing clearance problems when I have the car hitched to our caravan.

If anyone out there has a larger clearance can they give me the 3 long numbers that are on the top of your towball, please.

This will be very much appreciated.

Not sure of your exact model but I tow with my 2009 (June) Avensis Tourer 2.0 Diesel TR.

I have an Al-ko AKS 3004 stabiliser fitted to both of my caravans,you may have the standard tow bar by the sound of it on your car.

IF you have a modern caravan with the above stabiliser 'will be too tight' as you discribe and you need to get an Al-Ko towball which has a 'longer neck' (the distance between the centre of the ball and the back of the towbar), the number ontop of my towball is AH 7081
