Sorry to hear your dementia is getting worse! Chances are if yer part-exchange (I assume its a car??)is more than a couple of years old, it'll just get flung in an auction.

I assume they looked at your p.ex?? They were obviously happy with it or they wouldn't have taken it, and anyway the price you got would have reflected their thoughts so personally I'd be happier with that than I would with a private deal under the same circumstances.

Thanks, I was just worried about the legal side, that I signed saying that it had not had any accidents, and the comeback if they check?

Do they check? Do I phone and tell them?

You only usually have to sign to say that your part exchange has not been in an accident, RESULTING IN IT BEING CLASSED AS A WRITE OFF (OR TOTAL LOSS)

I do not think that you should be too concerned.

If the document clearly asks if the vehicle you are part exchanging has ever been in an accident and you declare it has not been and you know in fact it has been then you may be guilty of either misrepresentation or possibly fraud. The extent of the damage or insurance history is not the issue.

How would you feel or what would you do if you bought a car from a dealer and he declared the vehicle had never been in an accident and you then discovered otherwise after signing the sales contract. You would either want your money back or at least a reduction in price.:)

This was a honest mistake, i'be been down to the dealership and explained, they said it was fine, and have written and signed on my copy of the form that they know about the accident and are ok with it.

Thanks to everyone's help
