Would These Fit?

Anyone?

Why not check the handbook supplied with your IQ for suitability of fitting?

Or if you have a bit more time take out the existing bulb to compare the fitting

Patience is a virtue ;)

I read a topic a while ago and there was a big dispute over what type bulb the iq takes, as in the hand book I believe it says hir2 fitment, but these are not that easily available.

Thanks

If there is a doubt about which type is fitted why not speak to your local Toyota dealer and tell himwhat you are proposing to do.

They can be most helpful at times ;)

Good luck!

I received the bulbs a few weeks ago, and the fit, but not perfectly. The problem is that they do not lock completely and are at a slight angle because of this. Would this effect the beam of light? And for those that have changed the bulbs should I remove the tab that is in the way.

Thanks

I've been doing some digging on this myself regarding bulbs. I couldn't get onto the link about what bulbs you went for, but if it's from Auto bulbs Direct, I'm guessing they were HB4 fitments?? I bought some from them too, and all I did was filed down one of the 'tabs', this allowed the bulbs to fit into the socket, then just twist in place to lock.

If you want perfect matching xenon looking upgrade bulbs, they are HIR2 9012 bulbs I think they are called, but only available abroad, mainly America, and cost probably around £60

Not sure if any of this helps.

Yeh the bulbs I went for were HB4s, I might have to try filing down one of the tabs, would the bulb being in at a jaunty angle effect the beam?

Thanks

It depends how fixed in it is at the moment. If it's held in fairly well but at an angle, the light projection should be ok (it was when I tested mine before alterring the pins) but I didn't trust mine not to come loose or rattle about once I hit the roads properly, so just filed down the pin, job done.
