I obtained a 2001 RAV4 3dr six months ago I would like to disconnect the Battery to install a tow bar kit.

What I would like to know is will the disconnection cause my radio/cassette head unit to lock out and ask for a security code which I don,t have?.

The head unit is the 18302 model.I,ve been told this model does not have a code requirement?. Has anyone any experience of this?

Hi,tb2,

I have just had to remove my Battery to recharge it (lights left on doh!)

The radio came on after,I had to retune it thought.

Hope this helps and also that everything goes well fitting the towbar.

It might bleep at you when you take the lead off. If it does just ignore it.
