Idle Speed

When i satart the car cold the revs start to settle at about 1500 revs which i think is quite high even for a cold car? it does settle to about 800-900 after warmed up and the temp needle at half way point....does everyones engine start up revved at 1500rpm tho? the temp guage doesnt rise above half-way at all so im taking that as a good sign for now....

Also i looked under the metal filler cap (the one thats on the left hand side on a pipe) and i couldnt see and fluid in it at all! is that normal? havnt gotten round to checking inside the expansion bottle on the right hand side yet.

yeh these idles from cold r cool, and so is the halfway point heat temp. if it settles to approx 800 when warmed up ur fine.

cheers dude, tried to have a look at the coolant reservoir..what an annoying place to put it! Still, there must be a good reason its in that specific place..tried cleaning the outside but still couldnt find out if it was up to the full mark or not need to get a flashlight me thinks...
